We are really pleased with our latest Ofsted Inspection Report - a reflection of how committed the staff are to improving the lives of all the children.
We provide very high staffing ratios with 1:1 suppport in school and throughout the waking day. Teachers, therapists and senior staff are in addition to this. Each child is allocated their own individual classroom a teacher and a behaviour support worker. Individual education programmes are tailored to meet their unique learning styles and levels of attainment. Positive, reward based teaching techniques are used to shape childrens responces.
A ratio of one teacher to 4/5 pupils is maintained to provide a high level of individual teaching. In addition to this teaching assistants support in the classrooms.
24 Hour Curriculum
Our curriculum is planned to promote each childs learning through a full range of experiences, opportunities and activities that are appropriate to individual levels of ability.
In our Lower School we cover Key Stages 2,3 and 4
The Upper School has a separate curriculum for the 16 -18 year olds.
The curriculum is delivered across the school and homes. The location of our school and homes allows easy access to a variety of different activities in the community. Each location has its own vehicle for curriculum trips and evening and weekend leisure trips. An additional vehicle is available for long distance travel and home visits.
We offer specialist care and education including speech and language therapy and sensory and theraputic sessions.
Our purpose built school is registered and approved by the Department for Education and Skills.
